Creating Schedules
When adding a schedule, there are general pieces of data and specific pieces of data you can set for the schedule.
Schedule Name
This will be the name of the schedule. This name will be the Value
for the tag applied to your resources you want to have this schedule applied to. Every schedule name must be unique, we suggest including the resource type in the name of the schedule.
Schedule Type
Sets the type of resource this schedule will act on. A schedule can only act on one resource type.
Timezone
The timezone you want to use as context for the schedule. This allows you to set the times in the schedule’s periods to times you’re familiar with instead of needing to do timezone conversions.
Resource Specific Data
EC2 has no additional values, however Autoscaling Groups, Lambda, and RDS all have additional values you can set that can dictate how the schedule functions outside of the schedule window for persistent resources
Periods
Once you have the initial values configured for a schedule, it’s time to start configuring when your schedule will run by setting up one or more Periods
