Dashboard Cost Widgets

The SkySaver Dashboard includes several cost-related visualizations embedded directly in the main dashboard page. These widgets are part of the Where’s the Money Going? and How Can I Save? sections.

These widgets require the Cost Explorer automation to be enabled and data to have been collected.


Cost By Service

A pie chart showing your spend distributed across AWS services for the current month.

Cost By Tag

A bar chart that groups your spend by the values of a selected cost allocation tag.

Tags available in this chart are configured in Project Defaults > Cost Allocation Tags. Only tags activated in your AWS Billing Console and added to Project Defaults will appear.


Spending Over Time

An area chart showing your daily AWS spend trends over the current or recent period. Use this to:

  • Spot unexpected spikes
  • Measure the impact of schedule changes
  • Track month-over-month growth

Savings Opportunities (How Can I Save?)

This widget surfaces AWS Cost Optimization Hub recommendations grouped by category (rightsizing, idle resources, commitments, storage). Each card shows:

  • Estimated monthly and annual savings
  • Implementation effort level
  • Expandable per-resource detail
  • Ignore actions (90-day or permanent)
